I reside in Pensacola, Florida, in Escambia County. I was sent to work in Bay County, in Panama City because there was nothing at the time in Pensacola for me. Now it seems counties are fighting to have county residents working in their perspective counties. Not sure how true or what actions will be taken , so I am proactively searching in Pensacola to find me a contractor to work for. I’m trying to keep a running tally of contractors and Staffing Agencies in Pensacola. If anyone comes across more information I would appreciate the input!

My Dad had chosen orders to Sigonella Sicily again. I attended grades (9-11) at Stephen Decatur High School. This time when we arrived we stayed at the Hotel Bonaccorsi we stayed there for a little while while we attended school. After about 6 months we moved to a town called Motta. After about a year and a half, we eventually moved to Naval Housing which was across the street from the Naval base I. It was beautiful country and a beautiful experience for a teenager. This was my family’s 2nd tour in Sicily.
For those of you with Staff Agency experience you understand the duplicity involved. There seems to be a lot of multiple charges for each oil spill worker, the head count, man count, seems to be very important. Why are the contractors subbing out to sub contractors and each charging for the same group within their assigned(hired) oil spill workers? Shouldn’t one contractor charge as appose to multiples for the same people? It seems the oil spill worker walks away with the least compensation. Is it administrative, the food, the hotels? Hotels were being provided if you were out of town. There is two meals provided to the workers everyday( breakfast and lunch) and fresh fruit. ( Well it depends on your shift and the meals may be different) Who pays for the food and beverage vendors? There is also plenty of water and powerade provided as well. There is trash and a lot of plastic bottles that are discarded as a result, I hope the plastic is being recycled!
Who and where is the allocation for the bids on the contracts of the Gulf Coast? The Gulf Coast is being sold off in sections for the clean up, each contractor gets a region or section on the shoreline, I’m not sure how it works in the water, however, I’m sure it is the same.
I simply want transparency, it always seems in Emergency Disaster times corruption peaks its ugly head!
If you are a worker, concerned citizen, who ever, I would love to hear from you!
I just returned from Panama City Beach, Florida working on the shorelines. I was away for three weeks unable to blog. I do not tote my laptop because I like to travel light. There is such misinformation between workers, contractors, sub contractors and staffing agencies, and the public! There is an astronomical amount of oil in the water right now and it is going to reach the shorelines of the Gulf Coast, on a more consistent bases. The weather and wind play a big part of where the tar balls appear, however the oil slick is a whole other animal, and I fear what will transpire during hurricane season.
I was employed by a Staffing Agency(Command Center) and sub contracted out to Anderson Pollution Control, Inc. , and First Response Inc., if that explains a cluster of money dispersed everywhere!
I want the oil out of the water and off the beaches period! There seems to be more of a concern to get the 21 billion then to allocate it and use it properly. I have been a Pensacola, Florida resident for some years, I’ve always recognized and appreciated the beautiful beaches here, and now I get to witness at first hand this unfortunate environmental death.
If you have questions or insight please share, knowledge is power.
There have been a significant amount of oil spills in our oceans, some that were not reported. There should already be a red alert manual on hand for immediate response to ocean protection during an oil spill. There are a sum of things that are not right.
I decided to take a HAZWOPER certification class to get informed and to clean up the oil! I took the 40 hr class over the weekend Fri, Sat and Sunday and then I was sent to Panama City Monday June 21st thru Sunday June 27th to clean up the tar balls that are slowly hitting there.
I currently reside n Pensacola Florida and I am waiting to be sent to clean up the oil here. It seems that from New Orleans all the way to Panama City, Fl there is a lot of un-organization.
I do not know what the average persons stats are on blogging, tweeting, text messaging, face book..etc. a day, however, I do believe people driving could , and should refrain from typing. I have heard a little about Oprah’s movement on a no phone zone in your vehicle, we still can not get people to stop drinking and driving ! I say multitask but not in your moving 5 thousand pound crushing weapon. Do other countries have this problem?

Infidelity seems to be the running theme in the media these last couple of months. Does the gender make a difference? Are the rules or reasons justifiable for one more than the other? Women are just as capable to commit infidelity. It really boils down to who you are to yourself as a person and what truth and decision you make in your chosen committed relationship or marriage. Everything is at your fingertips, and you will always be tested again on lessons you have not learned. The opportunity will always present itself, however, what have you learned about you? People try to escape pain through drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, eating, shopping ..etc…If you are doing something to an extreme, pay attention, and figure it out.
I’m curious to hear what inner workings is in motion to make the decision of causing a major crap storm. I have heard the “had to much to drink”, or “not getting the attention at home” . I never could understand why anyone would take on such a paradox. It seems to complicate things more than to give peace of mind. Do what you want, just leave casualties out of the process.
I was on Hiatus from blogging, trying to wrap my head around stuff, the crazy weather and incidents around the globe. (tornadoes, oil spill in the gulf of Mexico..etc…)
Yesterday morning I was at my nephew Nathans Flag Football game. I had my little niece Madison and Landon with me, and for Parents, sometimes you miss great plays for keeping an eye on the ever moving, wondering two year olds,( well Landon will be two in June). The little ones and I were laying down with our whole bodies on the grass staring at the overcast sky, ( we were still taking it all in) yes I play and join the fun too! (children are great reminders for teaching us to live in the moment). Nathans team was doing well, my brother- in- law coaches his sons team. After the game was over, his co -coaches wife ended up collapsing to the floor, she complained of numbness in her hands and feet . Her 10 year old son, who plays on my nephews team was a couple of feet away from his mother , he was sitting on the grass with his head facing the ground, he said he was praying for her, that she has always been in his life. He was worried and afraid she would not get to enjoy her mother’s day, and gifts. The EMT showed up and took her to the hospital. I was present for that moment and it shakes you up to see a husband and child go through concerned emotions in a state of not knowing the possible outcomes. I’m glad to report this precious mother was severely dehydrated and suffered vertigo.
I wanted to share this because today, as every day, whatever strife or neglect you have with your mother, or a mother figure, cherish the time you have, we can never predict the timing of things.
To my mother, my sister, and sister-in-law, who are all mommas, it is not just a title, it is the reminder of the beauty in unconditional love.
When , or what is it going to take for people to appreciate the things in their lives. People need to discover who they are authentically and live there life that way. I watched a re-run of Oprah’s interview with Rosie O’Donnell addressing personal questions of The View, her break up and just baring her soul. Rosie shared that she was a motherless child ( from age 5, I believe) and suffered a great deal through life because of it. I love to hear people speak about their self discoveries, issues that they had as children and how it limited them in adulthood, and by searching deep enough they rid themselves of their limits. People need to take inventory of their life , it is their reality, no one is living life for you or through you, but you. Every individual comes with his or her own blue print , sometimes through the decades it fades or gets changed. Who do you share yourself with if you do not have a grasp of who you are, or afraid to share yourself? Do not let fear, anger, anything get in the way of it! It is one life, one body.
